So I've been going to the doctor a lot lately and 3 tests have revealed that I have some pretty serious allergies going on--and I didn't even know it!!! I've got really high IgE levels and a biopsy of my esophagus shows that I have a pretty bad case of eosinaphillic esophagitis (it took me 5 minutes to pronounce that!). (I can't recall the third test right now...) My questions are as follows: 1) Do allergies affect/increase the TPO antibodies? 2) Do allergies drain the adrenals/cause AI? 3) I've been given the skin prick test for allergies--I don't know how accurate those tests are, but that showed that I'm very allergic to trees, pollen, ragweed, cats, dogs, molds (forget the names--there's 2), dust, dust mites, cockroach feces (?!), and slight allergies to beef and pork. My question is, what is the best way/most accurate way to test for allergies? 4) Finally, is there a safe, natural treatment? I've heard of a holistic doctor near me who treats allergies by injecting a tiny amount of the allergen into one's system and to let the body produce antibodies to it over time. This is also followed by a stringent supplement plan. However, I'm nervous about doing this approach--how might this tax my adrenals??? Ok, so that's it for now!
