Yes, every doctor in America is prescribing this and ruining millions of children's lives!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the norm. 17 grams, they are giving the adult dose. Please read the files section to see the numbers go from 7 to 1,966 adverse reactions over the last decade. I'm so sorry to hear about your son. Is he doing okay? jeanie To:

It was....My son was prescribed 17 cap fulls of Miralax for a clean out along with senna. Three days later my son went into cardiac arrest & septic shalk. His entire body shut down and they had to remove his entire colon and partial small intestines. After 3 weeks of ICU and over 2 months in the children's hospital and 4 surgery's my was 9 years old and this just happened within the last 10 months.

No, but that sounds really scary to me.

Has anyone else had a doctor or nurse practitioner assign a clean out dose of 17 cap fulls of Miralax at one time?

Have you tried probiotics, Vitamin C, mag-citrate, Nature's Calm....etc??

I know it's an individual decision, but I remember trying to wean my DD off this drug and someone here suggested I go cold turkey, which I did and never looked back. She was on Miralax for 8.5 months at the time, and has been off it for over 2 years now. It was difficult for about a week or two, but things got progressively better with time.

I did an elimination diet trying to figure out whatever it was that was causing the constipation. Turned out that the culprit was regular cows milk. Someone here mentioned Lactose-Free milk (which the pediatrician actually told me would not make any difference, and to keep my child

on Miralax) and my DD has been doing well on the Lactose-Free milk now for a good year or so.Many here have tried different things that have worked for them. I'm sure you've seen the many suggestions in the emails. Rest assured that something other than Miralax WILL work for your child, too.

Good luck to you!

Hi-I have been regularly reading the messages from this group. My 4 year old has been on miralax for a year now.I'm slowly lowering the dosage of miralax every 2 months or so, now the dosage reached to 1/4 th teaspoon, and I see her struggling to go but not being able to get it out.

Are there any suggestions for natural alternatives that I can substitute toSupport her body perfom the action without miralax? It's hard to see her try to poop so hard n not able to, and not any easier to give miralax..I'm sure ur all familiar with that..

Do you notice any stinging and burning upon urinating? This is very common in children who took PEG but seems to be more in females than males? To: miralax Sent: Sat, December 10, 2011 11:03:55 PMSubject: Re: FDA Petition

There was a link and a current malpractice suit. went through this experience this last February 14 and missed his last championship basketball game....but today was his first basketball game since then and he has never been better!

Also, how's your son doing now?

members, please remember to hit, "New" upon sending a new subject so it can be found later, otherwise they get lost with a title like FDA petition. It's very hard to find and file these when they are not according to title as you know we have 1555 members now. When someone wants to find information on a subject, you can click the key words and hit search mail, again this confuses the computer and makes it hard to find if it's not properly titled. Thank you! To: "miralax " <miralax >Sent: Sat, December 10, 2011 7:07:48 PMSubject: FDA Petition
