They are mosquito bites. We are in central Arkansas. I have seen them bite him while in our garden/yard.His reaction is different on different parts of his body. His waist to his feet is where they blister and ooze.If it is in the calf muscle it swells and once at school naptime he got up and was limping and crying. It wasalso hot, but he himself did not have a fever all over. Arms and torso don't do that- just "normal" response. He got bit by his eye and it got swollen like he got hit with a baseball. He eye just about swoll shut. I amgoing to look into all of this. His genetics doctor found an allergist/immunologist that wanted to see him. Don't know how long it will take to get in. Thank goodness cold weather should be here to stay and he canget a break from being bit. The first time this ever happened we think it was a spider that bit him a schoolat naptime across the top of his sock line on both legs. A teacher later said she saw a spider in the class andkilled it. It is a new building, but a construction crew had come to take out our old playground to put in ournew parking lot and we saw lots of bugs sneak in the building that day.At that time he was younger and had never been bit by anything before. I didn't have him outdoors unless Iwas carrying him. Once he started venturing outside with me on foot mostly to do gardening he was gettingbit. Lots of mosquitos here. I will try to send you pics tommorow. I will look at regardingcaroline website. Thanks you two.AprilTo: Texas-Autism-Advocacy From: spacemom1@...Date: Thu, 27 Oct 2011 10:45:23 -0500Subject: Re: OT: Josh's IgE levels are very high: 1,489. so are severe reactions to mosquito bites a sign of autoimmune issues? my sone gets huge hard swollen lumps from mosquito bites. Sent from my iPhone

Mosquito bite might of been an allergy reaction due to which seems like an autoimmune dysfunction or other health physical issue going on.This is my son when he gets stung by a mosquito, it flares up, has some nasty reaction.

There seems to be more that has been going on which you must rule out if possible on finding someone that can out-rule Lyme disease, see if Mitochondrial dysfunction or P.A.N.D.A.S., have these test done.

Hopefully others here will share their input. If you're in the DFW area, highly recommend if possible attending a future workshop going on PANDAS.If your near the Austin area, one of my son's doc was able to run various test at the Neurosensory ctr. when I brought up some concerns, my son is an established patient there.

One of my son's doc where it all started is a hematologist & oncologist where my son was first dx'd w/common variable immunodeficiency disorder which I can relate with similar numbers, this was the beginning of this chapter from a mosquito bite to such findings to ruling out Lyme disease to Mitochondrial dysfunction to now dx'd w/P.A.N.D.A.S.

Hope you find the right doc to assist within your sons's symptoms of what is going on w/him, wish you well on this mission.Irma

Jos Josh has Noonan's Syndrome. Mildly affected. Really just short stature. I was just alarmed and sharing here if anyone can help. Some message boards it pertains toand others it doesn't. Panicing! But, the doctor didn't say to come back immediately,

so maybe I should calm down.Thanks,AprilTo: aprilveronica@...Subject: RE: - Appt with you on Oct 24th QuestionsDate: Wed, 26 Oct 2011 22:51:02 +0000

Dear April,

It was good to see you and Josh the other day. His blood counts are not impressive, but he has a very high level of IgE—the immunoglobulin

associated with allergies. (Normal is up to ~100, allergies can drive it toward 1000; his level is 1489—that’s impressive!) Very high levels are usually secondary to something else, (i.e., abnormalities in the system that regulates IgE level) and can

be associated with severe recurrent infections—not a problem he’s had. I can’t find any connection to Noonan syndrome. I’ll check with our immunologists and let you know what we should do next.

Subject: - Appt with you on Oct 24th Questions

Hello,

We are still dealing with the mosquito bite issue. Actually, it doesn't matter what type of

bite it is. His legs are just a big mess. It all looks awful. Could it be that his adrenal

glands are not working properly?

What will be be discussing about Josh and Noonan's (or anything else) on the 24th?

Have a good day.

April
