Guest guest
Hi all, A member of another Yahoo group I belong to received a very official sounding email pretending to be from Yahoo. I have to say, it's one of the best fraudulent emails I've ever seen, and I can see how people could be fooled into believing it is legitimate. I will paste the content of that email below. The fraudulent email claims the member's account has been compromised and asks the user to provide their Yahoo ID and Password. Yahoo would *never* ask you to provide that information as an email reply! The member did provide that information and now her account is being used to send spam emails, many of which are being bounced back to her. If you do mistakenly provide your ID and password, change your Yahoo password *immediately* through Yahoo's home page. Here is the fraudulent email. Again, remember, Yahoo, and any other legitimate service such as MSN, Gmail, etc. would *never* ask you to send them your ID and password through an email. - Helen -------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Yahoo!
