Guest guest
Our district is now saying they will only transport our SpEd students home or to a daycare provider after school and NOT to a therapy provider, citing budget restraints. My child (AU diagnosis) has ABA therapy at Children's Autism Center (within the district, actually 3+ miles closer to the school than my home) 4 days per week after school, which means when he gets off the bus at home (3:15pm), we load him straight into the car and take him to therapy. This means a stressful transition for him 4 days per week and cuts into therapeutic time, as well as pushing back dinnertime, and downtime prior to bedtime. Any guidance/suggestions for successfully getting the district to drop him off at CAC instead of home? I can understand pushback if the provider was out of district, or a great distance out of the way, but this is NOT the case. I haven't started my campaign yet, but I think I am going to want to push this.
