Do you wear glasses to

read? Do you use a calculator when you pay bills or manage your finances? What

about texting instead of talking on the phone? Do you ever use a computer to

type an email to a friend instead of writing a letter in longhand and sending

it by snail mail? Have you ever used a blender or a food processor to chop food

in the kitchen instead of using a knife? If you can answer

" yes " to any or all of these questions, then you have used assistive

aides, also referred to as Assistive technology! Everyone uses Assistive

devices, but individuals who have a disability often require its use in order

to perform every day tasks.

Is there something you or your child who has a disability have

difficulty doing or cannot access due to a disability?

If so, then this presentation is for you! Assistive technology is not any

single item or category of items, but a plethora of different aids and devices

that make life easier. Universal design and universal design for learning

assures equal access and a more level playing field in every facet of life.

Come and learn about all the possibilities awaiting you or your child with the

help of these tools!
