Guest guest
, I agree with most of your statement but there is one thing that I would like to add. Being an employee of a Fire Based System; I love it!! I get the best of both worlds because I love helping people...its what I do! I think that regardless of what service it is; there can be those types of people that provide patient care that is less than desirable. It is up to the rest of us that care about people, our profession, and pre-hospital medicine to watch and to seek those persons whom are less than desirable and either help them back to the right way or help them out of the business. There are pro's and con's to each type of service and the service should fit the communities needs. I love being a Firefighter, I love being a Paramedic, but I mostly love helping people and I could not imagine stopping either one. As for both services together in our department; its been great. I think Austin has a great service. I think College Station has a good service. There are alot of good services out there; some are Fire Based, some are third service, and some are private. I think we should all just seek out those individuals that dont truely like helping people and get them out. It's late so if I am not making sense or missing the point, forgive me.
