Guest guest
Hello to my fellow chronic pain and other problems with the body. Yesterday I had my second Colonoscopy. The first and second results seem to present me with something called Diverticulosis. It sounds kind of scary. The problems are described as pockets along the lining of the lower bowel. I am told that at first presentation nothing at this time is dangerous or a big worry. I am to eat fresh Fruits and Fresh vegetables, this I have been doing for years now. The other is to eat lots of roughage, this means to include breads etc. I have a side effect from the breads and have found that it does do a number on my metabolism, cravings for more,it creates my bodies reaction to the Gluten in Wheat, it has been a life long issue so I avoid them(muffins, breads, etc) they are asking me to consume something that is poisonous to my body. The other thing that they are asking me to do to is exercise, well that is another issue. I am limited as to any exercise that hasn't so far, a very painful result, I have decided that I will join the YWCA again and start out with maybe some water exercise ,walking in the water until I am strong enough to at least make an effort to do this. I have used the Y to help me to lose weight. I was told that the pockets that in the lower bowel can become infected if food and stays there and usually develop into an infection where they would have to irrigate and start me on an antibiotic s, the worst case scenario is that the lower bowel might make the infection may not respond to the drugs etc. This would then create perforations in the lower bowels and then it may require surgery, it they should burst it may cause death, oh Happy day choose to not go that route. Now I understand the red blood (real RED colored, Bright.) that occurs in my stool. Has anyone ever been presented with this type of health issue. Thank you for your kind patience. I hope this does not offend too many people. Alice _wseone56@..._ (mailto:wseone56@...)
Guest guest
Alice, My mother is fighting this battle right now. She goes in Friday to have her " pockets " removed. She has diverticulosis pretty bad. First it started as a 12 inch polup (SP?) that was removed, then on to the diverticulitus. She would have extreme reactions to foods such as garlic. She would cramp and have diarriah for days. Sometimes, in very bad cases she took round after round of strong antibiotics. Now they think the poisenious fluid is leaking out of the pockets into her system, thus the removal. She is in so much pain and miserable. I hope you have not progressed to the level and never do. I have watched her suffer for two years now and am very relieved they are going to remove the worst of the pockets, even though I hate to see her go through the surgery. Good luck, Caitlin wseone56@... wrote:Yesterday I had my second Colonoscopy. The first and second results seem to present me with something called Diverticulosis.
