Guest guest
Moderator's Note: Welcome to the group , it certainly sounds like you have had a rough time. Kaylene Co-moderator Hello everyone, I'm new and I wanted to introduce myself. My name is (KT for short). I am a 57 year old female who is unable to work. I submitted my initial application for disability on May 19th and am waiting on my reply which was promised within 120 days (sept 15th). BACK I am dealing with severe DDD and DJD. I have grade 3 spondylothsis on L4 -L5, moderate degernative desiccation and narrowing of the L3-L4 disc.L1-L2 disc extrusion with neural compression, L4L5 annular bulging with neural compression. Pain is constant and radiates down back, buttocks, thighs, calves and feet. I can't sit or stand for any length of time. Bending and stretching is impossible. The legs go numb and I requrie a walker. ANKLE 3 surgeons have recommended an ankle replacement. I had a traumatic ankle injury 20 years ago (broke it and tore all the ligaments). CARPAL TUNNEL Had the surgery in both hands. Pain continues to radiate up and down arms Esepcially at night. The hands go numb. can only keyboard for a short period of time. MORBID OBESITY DIABETES MELITUS TYPE II HASHIMOTO'S THYROIDYTIS HYPERTENSION SEVERE PTSD DEPRESSION ANXIETY DISORDER MOOD DISORDER MEMORY IMPAIRMENT These are the conditions which I have documented and are the basis for my disability claim. MANAGING THE PAIN In the past I used vicodin 7.5 (3x) and Oxy 5 mg (1x or 2x) I visited the pain clinic 2 weeks ago and I was given a nerve block shot, neurontin 100mg 3x a day for a total of 300mg and methadone 2x a day and Vicodin 7.5 for break through pain. The pain is completely gone - but I am way too loopy and sleepy. I was hoping that after a few weeks this would subside. I would like to know what others have experienced. I have a husband who is my care taker and also many friends. I am anxious to not only accept the support offered her but also share support with others. I look forward to your comments especially on my recent drugs. Thank You, KT
Guest guest
Hi : I am also new here and also a diabetic. I was on Social Security Disability and was refused. I did get a lawyer, he wrote one letter (no exaggeration) and I was able to get Social Security. I turned 65 and it turned into regular Social Security. A month later I lost my husband to colon cancer and now I get survivor benefits. I am a long-term diabetic on insulin since I was in my 20's. In the last year I developed diabetic neuropathy and I am being treated with 900 mgs neurontin and 500 mgs of vicadin for the pain. At night my legs are much worse which of course is a symptom of neuropathy. I have my good days and bad. I just take it one day at a time. Hugs from southern California Ro
