Guest guest
Here is another little article from the AMA that mentions fat. Aside from fat being harmful in terms of the heart risks, it is also counterproductive in terms of the calorie content, in that is has more than double the calories of carbohydrates! " What's a gram? " A gram is the metric unit of measure that you see on food labels to indicate nutrient quantities. There are 4 grams of fat in a teaspoon, so a food with 12 grams of fat contains 3 teaspoons of fat. Cholesterol and sodium are listed in milligrams. There are 1,000 milligrams in a gram. " Fat packs the most calories, gram for gram. There are 9 calories in 1 gram of fat; 4 calories in 1 gram of carbohydrate or protein; and 7 calories in 1 gram of alcohol. "
