Guest guest
Theo - I too am fairly new to diabetes but even when I see a question that I have heard before it helps remind me to watch out for that particular aspect or to do that particular thing - which is still helpful for me - so I don't mind hearing questions again. Guest guest
I fail to see how you could separate a list like that. One facet of this disease overlaps onto another. Both lists would eventually be identical. in Port Orange FL In a message dated 99-03-14 07:57:43 EST, you write: << Maybe we need two lists, I am new to Diabetes and I can see that my questions will be boring to those of you who know so much about what I need to learn. But how you are handling food choices and bg testing is etremely interesting to me. Perhaps you would like to split the list and have a separate one for those who already know about diabetes and only want techncal info. How you live with diabetes, daily choices, ideas, fears, how you test, how you feel. This is where you live and this is what we need to be free to share. >>

Guest guest
Theo, We were all where you are now at one time. How do you think we learned so much. By asking questions and reading what others answered. I lived with this in denial for three years before finding these lists. I have learned so much and now have a fairly good control. It has taken trial and error to find what works for me. If you were on a list of all beginners who would you learn from? Ask away and I for one will not only try to answer your questions with what little I know but will continue to learn from the answers other give you. Food Choices have been a hard area for me as the conventional ADA diet doesn't work. I not only gain weight but can't control my BG. I started testing several times a day about l or 2 hrs after eating. I gradually came to understand that Carbs are out for me. I can only handle 20 - 30 carbs per day without running my BG's over 200. From this list I have joined other lists and continued to learn and try to tailor my lifestyle to what works for me. I wouldn't have know how to do this or even to do this without the wonderful people on these lists. So ask your questions, remember there are No Stupid questions only Dumb answers. (VBG) I am certain that in the answers you get I will continue to learn more about this horrible disease we all share. Prayers Ann S Education From: theoj@... Guest guest
If we made two lists and put all the newbies on one, who would support them? I agree, you need to ask those questions, we need to hear your trials with bg's, doctors appts, ect, in order to give (and receive!) support. There are plenty and I do mean PLENTY of lists that only talk the tech stuff... many people left those lists to find one like this. I don't want to be a number, I want to be a person, and like you to be a person to me. Guest guest
Theo, You can't possibly ask a diabetic question that will be boring to me No matter how long you have had diabetes, bg's and the fear of complications or the complications themselves are something we all deal with every day. Don't be afraid to ask anything, please. Meenie Education From: theoj@...
