Guest guest
> We are now starting clinical trials for addiction vaccines. Would U submit your children to these trials? Why or why not? I ask because I am doing a paper of vaccines and autism, but vaccine safety is the general piece of my article. I have never had any children. However, if I did, I would not " submit " them to *any* clinical trials, unless they had a chronic or fatal disease - not because of the conspiracy theories about vaccinations. -- Regards, Mark A. , Ph.D. * http://www.markfoster.net http://five.bahaifaith.info + http://kingdoms.bahaifaith.info

I feel much the same, Mark. The priorities of the FDA and Big Pharma are slanted in favor of business, not the health of the patient. If you have any doubt, just take a look at some of the drugs that quickly came to market in recent years. Drugs with enough disabling side effects to make PI lawyers very very rich. If I had a chronic or fatal disease and was really desperate, I would take the risk and willingly become a " guinea pig " for a new drug or vaccine that offered hope. Otherwise, I would prefer to wait a few years and see how the product fares in the marketplace before getting on board myself. Best, ~CJ ------------------ DC 's " Why #OccupyWallStreet? 4 Reasons. Whenever I think of clinical trials, I remember the famous Tuskegee Institute (now Tuskegee University) syphilis studies. They actually gave black males syphilis in order to see how the disease progressed: http://www.cdc.gov/tuskegee/timeline.htm -- Regards, Mark A. , Ph.D. * http://www.markfoster.net http://five.bahaifaith.info + http://kingdoms.bahaifaith.info
Guest guest
If I had children, I would have my kids vaccinated, on a single thread basis. None of this give a whole mess at once; give one at a time, with just the normal ones combined (like DPT). Not sure about field trials though...would have to be for something they were at risk of. ~ "Nobody realizes that some people expend tremendous energy merely to be normal."--Albert Camus Sent from my VZW BlackBerrySender: aspires-relationships Date: Sat, 29 Oct 2011 22:43:59 -0500To: Newland; aspires-relationships <aspires-relationships >; aspires-relationships <aspires-relationships >ReplyTo: aspires-relationships Subject: Re: OT: Advisory Panel Urges U.S. to ConductControversial Anthrax Vaccine Trial in Children > Why?:Do you mean, why wouldn't I submit my (hypothetical) children to vaccine trials? Guest guest
> Hmmm? Should parents have concerns about vaccines? Of course, there is no way to be sure about anything. I look up everything and try to rely upon the best current science available. However, " Coca-Cola " (or Coke) was originally named after the cocaine added to the cola. They also used to routinely x-ray a customer's feet in order to get the shoe size right (without any lead protection for the salesperson). -- Regards, Mark A. , Ph.D. * http://www.markfoster.net http://five.bahaifaith.info + http://kingdoms.bahaifaith.info
