Hello All,

Just thought that I would give you an update as to how I am doing since

my Nucleoplasty procedure last Friday.

The procedure went very well. I remember going into the O.R., getting

on the table, waking up, and then being in recovery. I don't remember

much else about the procedure itself, which is a good thing in my book.

The doctor went in from the front, which was a surprise to me. I

figured it would be from the back, much like a discogram. Naturally,

the entry site was very sore afterwords, and I had a little trouble

swallowing for about 18 hours, but not severe enough to keep me from

eating.

Since the procedure, I have not been pain free. However, there has

been great improvement in my neck. My neck is not nearly as stiff as

it was before the procedure and the pain in my right arm is better as

well.

The remaining pain that I have is in the right shoulder and trap, and

even that it is better than before the procedure. I am hoping that

this will get better with time. I know that healing requires time, and

all the pain would not be gone immediately after the procedure.

Overall, the improvement that I have seen justified the procedure, even

if it never relieves all of the pain. Once I am further along in the

healing, I will again try to exercise the area to strengthen the

muscles and hopefully relieve more of the pain.

Thank you all for your support, prayers, and helping me get through

this. I will continue to keep you updated as the healing continues and

hopefully more relief comes my way.

Blessings,

Mike
