Guest guest
I was so worried about >the baby and how the nurses at the hospital would treat me. the baby had >no >side effects and the only problem I had was a couple of nurses read in my >chart that I had seen a psychiatrist due to my husband passing away and >said >to me " Wow you have had a lot of pain in your life first your husband and >now all this chronic pain. " I was really upset because I was emotional and >felt they were implying something. >Kim > Hi Kim It sounds like the nurses were trying to be kind. We nurses have to assess and evaluate everything about a patient. They might have been worried about the possibility of post partum depression. Guest guest
Yes I think you were right, I didn't really get across what I meant. That sometimes we are so worried about things that we see things that are not really there. I am finishing my nursing degree now, and I hope that all my cp experiences will help me be more empathetic towards patients. thanks Kaylene Kim -- Re: Nurses comments/Kim Hi Kim It sounds like the nurses were trying to be kind. Be very careful which area of nursing you work in, so that you don't wear your body out the way I did. Good luck with your nursing career. You will find that there is rarely a dull moment.
