Hi Janice,

I burst fractured my back when I was 49. I am now 62 and it doesn't take a

genius to fugure out how long I have lived with pain. It wasn't diagnosed for 6

months after it happened and I had to go back to work after the injury. I

lasted another 12 1/2 yrs. in a factory. It was living hell.

The pain radiates from my back to my ribs and down to my hips. I have a hard

time sleeping at night and like you take much medication. too much, but what

can you do. Some quality of life is better than none.

You will find peace, it just takes time. You have to know that you have no

control with how your body feels. It just does. And you learn to try and make

the best of everyday. Sometimes you might even get a good day where you don't

even feel that bad. Few and far between but sometimes it happens. I wish you

the best. And try and settle your mind. You can't do what you used to and

that's a fact. Hard but true.

I wish you the best,

donna

Donna~ THanks for your kind words. It means alot to be

getting such great support from the group so far! I

cannot imagine you working for 12 yrs in pain. I used

to work with it as well and sometimes felt i could

just climb into one of the beds at the hospital where

i worked. Some of the patients actually looked

healthier than me!! I am trying so hard to feel well

but somedays it is a losing battle. Today I had PT (I

just had a rt. ankle arthroscopy 2 wks ago)AND I went

to the gym to do the bike and a few weight machines.

My workouts now are nothing compared to what I used to

do but, I am trying to get a bit of strength and tone

back. Even though I force myself to exercise and

such~I could cry through the entire day sometimes.

It's so hard to deal with this. I get what you are

saying about settling my mind about things~I have a

real hard time with that. I think I can't accept

things for alot of reasons that will just take time to

work out, Anyway~ thanks again fro your support. It

means alot. Janice

Mike~ Thanks fro your kind words. I am working so hard

to accept and deal with things. I just was told today

by the doc that what is still wrong with my back is

inoperable because there are so many levels involved.

So ~I have to adapt, adjust and accept what I have

been given somehow and try not to feel that my life is

over. I read that someone named Mike is having

nucleoplasty. Is that you? If so good luck and prayers

for you. I will be thinking of you. Thanks

again~Janice
