Guest guest
> Your basemnt sounds like it's going to be really nice I bet you are > excited. I'm really excited, especially since I've hired an interior designer to help me plan out everything. The house is small, but it is forcing me to figure out ways to reduce clutter (in a feng shui sorta way). However, the basement needs some renovations and improvements (including a small bathroom, since we only have one right now). A few weeks ago, were thinking of selling the house and moving on the island to reduce my commute time, but after realizing that the real estate market is really blooming and properties are over-priced, we decided to improve our home a bit and stick around a little longer (3 years). > How big is your swimming pool? With a small semidetached cottage in an urban-suburban (because we are neither one or the other) area comes a small backyard, so we were limited in our choice. We went for an oval 12x18 pool, 52 inches deep. It's compact but accomplishes what it's supposed to: ie cool us off. It's also just big enough to improvise some water aerobics in hot scorching weather (when a regular workout is not the greatest). We sacrificed pretty much our whole backyard, but since we live in front of a HUGE park (with a lake, small zoo, etc...) we decided that keeping the backyard wasn't a priority for now (a pool can always be removed if we want to recuperate that space). We expect to have company over quite often because none of the members of my family nor of Gilbert's family have a pool (my parents, my brothers and Gilbert's siblings live in a strictly urban area living on the island where backyard pools are a rarity for lack of backyard space and community pools are too packed!). Since most of my friends live away from the area though, we won't be getting much visitors besides family. Janick

I admit though, sometimes it's complicated, because without that " real life contact " it makes it harder to get to know people (visual cues are sometimes very important... at least for someone as visual as myself).
