Every symptom listed has been reported to the FDA before, in relation to the intake of poly-ethylene glycol.I am waiting for hard copies of forms to submit a formal written complaint.I firmly believe this OTC drug in dangerous and ultimately deadly. As a registered nurse, a mother and a consumer I implore anyone who suspects adverse reactions related to this drug to report it immediately. We can make this a better world united. White 'plastic like' granular pieces of 'oxalates'by-product of PEG exiting the body through extremeties, usually backs of arms and legs. The doctors tell people PEG will not get into your blood stream.I find that hard to believe, since oxalates are in the urine and causing painful, burning urination. This is well documented at this point. Kidney damage is a part of using this drug. The unforetold future of developing kidney stones later in life...In fairness to my son...he is a wonderful student. My husband and I had met with his teachers about a month before for his transition meeting to high school. He had been accepted to the local International Baccalaureate program. My son's teacher commented, " If every student was like him, it would be a pleasure to come to school every day."The child was never treated with any medication for Bipolar or other mental illness before this incident of a toxic dose of PEG given SIX days before he 'imploded'. We were told to give him a daily adult dose after the initial bowel cleansing dose which would have made an adult feel bad! Day 6 is where most of these children seem to have problems, seizures, death, etc.My son has not had any problems since, although we continued for three weeks with a daily dose, not knowing it" THE PEG" was the problem. He has not required any kind of medical treatment for erratic or strange behavior since this episode one year and ten months ago, but our lives have been pure hell as a result of that day and as a result of the supposedly 'safe' drug PEG.
