This highlights how autism families are vulnerable to undue interference from the CPS, and some lose their children. There have been some families in Texas Autism and some discussions before, but I wonder if this is getting worse.

What is the most disturbing is the ignorance of autism by the "professionals" who investigate and make decisions.

This is just so sad! Unfortunatley, we've been under investigation from cps too. Before my son was potty trained, he'd go (pee) on our carpet before I could stop him. I'd run him into the bathroom, but he refused to go in the potty. If he had to poop, he'd take off his pull up and go in one spot behind the couch. I really didn't care much because we were going to get new carpet anyways. Our carpet was beyond trashed. Not just from him, but from fudge sicks, popcicles, ice cream, soda, koolaid, and such. Once he was completley potty trained, we called empire carpet because we were getting our living room and hallway carpet replaced. When they guy came over to take measurements, he kept asking how our carpet got so dirty. We made the big mistake of telling him about our son being autistic and about

him going on the floor before he was potty trained. After they came and installed the carpet, we never thought twice about it. A few days later there was a knock at our door and it was a lady from cps. The first words out of her mouth was "I understand you just got your living room and hallway carpet replaced and you let your son urinate and deficate wherever he wants to". They did investigate us, but never found any signs of abuse. I did call the head office of empire carpet and they just basically laughed and said I couldn't prove who called cps.

this is terrible.......why don't people ask questions first before assuming something? People just don't understand the things we go through.
