Guest guest Posted June 9, 2006 Report Share Posted June 9, 2006 Hi ya'll........ I went to University of Mich on Tues, saw a dr, who ordered a bunch of tests over the next few weeks. He said I have IPF but may have Pulmonary Hemosideosis, ( I had to look that up) which is bleeding into the lungs. I've lost 45 lbs in 6 weeks and I'm on steroids and my sugar is low, like 120's. Go figure. But now for the good news. Yesterday I took mu hubby to the drs to get him some nerve pills, hes having ahard time with this and I asked the murse to check my pulse ox, it usually runs 81 to 85, I'm on 3 liters, 4 when I walk. Wellllllll........she checked it and it was 100%!!!!!!!!! Praise the Lord. I started crying then took off my oxygen , sat there and it stayed at 100%. I do know that God answers our prayers. Do the docs there have a treatment for it? Do they say it is part of the IPF? Take care of you.....and stop shrinking! There are times when our #'s are better than others. I firmly believe God is working on us. But if you don't use your Ox you'll wind up with heart problems or some kind of damage to your body. If your #'s are in the 80's your Ox is not right. call your Dr. ...Well, I guess I've had my say, I just worry about all of my ipf/pf family.. Please take care.. God Bless you and your family... I'll leave it on till the dr says different. Also, my weight moss, I'm not trying... The drs arent too happy about the rate I'm losing it, but I'm eating!! Have you found out about what the other diagnosis might be. Blood in your lungs that doesn't sound good. When do you go for more tests? I am praying ffor you I can't imagine what it is like to be going through what you are right now. Keep me posted. I hope to learn more about this illness through joining this group. Guest guest Posted June 13, 2006 Report Share Posted June 13, 2006 Vicky, Are you drinking Ensure or Boost? You need to keep your weight as stable as you can. When our bodies have to work so hard to get the oxygen out to all our peices and parts, we burn up a lot of calories. My weight has come off slowly. Yours is waaaay too fast. Got to keep the calories, vitimans and protein going in. Please let us know when you see the docs. Remember that we are praying and cheering for you.
