Emotions links

I have been doing a search for resources and a possible therapy for a friend

(not AS) who has repressed emotions due to family of origin issues.

Emotions (and lack of or inappropriate emotional response in an AS partner) is a

huge issue for AS/NT couples. Sometimes I think that " treatment " for AS alone is

of little use unless the AS person can at least become more aware of, and can

respond to emotions.

I'm not entirely convinced that AS who are " unemotional " are hard-wired to be

that way. Depending on what flavour of autism they have, there could well be a

few who are really like that, but I think it is more often due to complicated

psychological factors during critical stages of development. I thought I would

share a few of the links I found. If I find others that jump out at me I'll

share them too.

Emotions and Facial Expression (there's other interesting stuff at this site if

you navigate around it)

Interesting ..

Not entirely sure about the crystals, but hey, I feel good when I look at

elements of nature too, and the article does pack a lot of wisdom, though

lacking in sources:

I learned that Emotion Focused Therapy is taught, practiced and there are books

about it. Greenberg Ph.D. is an authority on the subject. Though

laypeople may find that without a clinical background may find that these books

are too deep, thought I would include the links here.

Two books by Greenberg, Ph.D.

And a review of the above book:
