I have been speaking about employment for those with severe autism. I have been telling me son's success story as an inspiration for others with significant disabilities in regards to employment. He was the Austin Mayor's Committee for People with Disabilities Employee of the Year in 2008 and since I have been speaking both locally, statewide and nationally encouraging others to expect to be just as successful in employment. I also talk about where we are as a state in regards to employment and the need for long term supports. As an advocate I am working closely with both DARS and DADS in regards to employment supports. I would love to speak at your conference. I can send you my bio if you would like more information.
