I can't speak for everybody, but my husband and I have found that if we avoid all glutamates as much as possible (msg and natural) we don't wake in the wee hours. If I get some glutamate accidentally I take advil before bed or with the meal and that works too. If I do wake in the wee hours with the obsessive thoughts (and usually a headache, husband doesn't get them) I can take advil and go back to sleep and wake at the normal time. (advil is a glutamate blocker)

Hi Bonnie, I just reread your post and noticed you said you wake up at 4 a.m. That is when i wake up also, every morning. then i lay there with obsessive thinking. sometimes i can return to sleep about 7 or so.

does anyone have any info on this? is there a correlation with this waking time?
