The first combined RAC Seminar will be held Wednesday, May 19, 1999 from 9 AM to 5 PM at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. This is being jointly sponsored by Central Texas Trauma Council and the Heart of Texas RAC will feature a special guest appearance and Press Conference with Dr. Red Duke. CEs have been requested for EMS and Nursing. Subjects include: Scene Size-Up and Gaining Access; Field Assessment of the Trauma Patient; When to Call for Back-Up, Early Helicopter Activation; Patient Stabilization & Packaging; Trauma Resuscitation in the Level IV Trauma Facility; and Injury Prevention. Registration for the seminar is $10. per person and includes lunch. (Contact Martha Holt at 254/ 202-4569 for registration information. ) Displays will include MADD, Medivac 1, Medical Plastics Laboratory and Central Texas Poison Control. A press conference featuring Dr. Red Duke will begin at 5:05 PM following the conference. Dr. Duke is making a Texas Trauma Tour to make citizens aware that " Accidents Don't Just Happen " .
