Guest guest
Hi everyone We had our appointment today with Hunter's new Paeds and she mentioned that the % of cells effected by the extra C is different in all area's. For example when Hunter's blood was taken at birth to check for DS we were advised that he was 60% DS. However the Paeds today advised us that this is only an indication of the % of cells effected in his blood. If they took a biopsy of his liver for example it may be a different %. Same goes for the brain, tissue, skin etc etc. Was anyone else advised this. I didn't realise that this was how it worked. Our last Paeds just told us he was %60 DS and that's all. It doesn't really matter in the long run anyway as they are not going to do a biopsy of any of the above to determine the % of cells effected. I just thought I'd double check if this was advised to anyone else. Fiona Mum to Hunter mds 9 weeks
