Everyone reacts differently to meds, but I've never felt the least bit zonked from taking Oxycodone Immediate Release. It's a good thing too. Despite my other work duties, I chose to take on the accounting for my office. The Board of Directors used to have it farmed out to an accounting firm, but I kept finding so many errors in the books, that I asked the Board to let me have a go at it. I do it on my own time as a volunteer. My books reconcile to the penny every month. Things are entered in the right category and the splits are automatically splitting the way they should. When our year end review was done, the CPA firm couldn't find any errors. Not bad for someone " taking hard drugs. Guest guest Posted May 19, 2005 Report Share Posted May 19, 2005 Lyndi, I seem to do alright with oxycodone myself too, although my only experience so far has been with the time-release form! Hydrocodone, no matter what dosage, makes my head feel " fuzzy " . It's not a " euphoric " effect, my head just feels like it is stuffed with cotton, and then when it starts to wear off, I get extremely tired. So I really like the fact that Oxycontin leaves me so functional. I started out on 10mg, and worked up to 20mg, so I've never felt zonked either. I'm actually MORE functional now, because I'm not distracted by the pain anymore. This morning is a good example. I was running late, and ended up forgetting to take my Oxycontin. I realized it at about 8:30, wondering why I was feeling so achy and I just couldn't function. My husband couldn't get it to me until after 10, and by that time, I just wanted to lay down on the nasty, dirty floor! Way to go with the accounting for your employer. I take on a lot of " extra " projects too, and I'm starting to be convinced that my boss thinks that I'm his personal gofer. He's in Wisconsin this week on a company trip, yet still managed to have me doing work for him! I don't mind though, it builds my credibility within the company, and I don't plan to stay " on the floor " for the next 25 years! My co-workers sometimes give me a hard time about it, saying that I'm a suck up. But hey, if trying to make a name for myself, and get somewhere is being a suck up, so be it! Thanks for the info about OxyIR. I have one more question though. What is the difference between OxyIR and OxyFAST? I have no idea, but I'm willing to hazard a guess :-) OxyInstantRelease enters our system quickly. So I'm guessing that OxyFast is the same thing under a different name. Wouldn't be great if the same drug had the same name, no matter what pharmaceutical company made it? I take a BP med and for the last three fills the name have been different.
