Guest guest
, This is TOTALLY unacceptable. If you have been there 36 hrs and neurosurgery hasn't had the time to come by, I think the best thing you an do for her now is to transfer her to another facility where she can get the care she needs. When I talked to the RN manager on the floor and told her that the care my dad was getting was unacceptable and I was going to transfer him, she really jumped on it, and dad got excellent care from that point on (I would have preferred to transfer him to a better hospital, but mom doesn't drive on the interstate and it really was best for mom to be able to visit dad. But, if they had not changed the care they were providing, he would have been transferred the next morning, as soon as I could have had it all arranged). Is this the hospital you usually use for Maddy's care? Is there another hospital in the area that has a good pedi neurosurgery department? If you tried the things I mentioned in my previous email then I think this may be your last option. Either it will improve the care she's getting and you can have her stay put (unless you want her to transfer), or she will be transferred to a facility that can better care for her needs. Keep us updated and best wishes. Be a pest. Be that thorn in their paw. Be that gnat that just will not go away. Eventually its easier for them to address your concerns and have you leave them alone than continue to try and ignore you. Guest guest
I SO agree with Jen. A sick baby with seizures, positive cultures and no Neuro has seen her in two days!!! OMG! Obviously I know you are trying and are at your wits end. You say seeing the liason made things worse? Go to the head of nursing or the director of the hospital then. Threaten to get the media involved or better yet, have your lawyer phone them, believe me they will move their feet. > > > Maddy is still in the hospital.
