Guest guest
Carol, Might want to do what the MD always did for me. Get a small urine sample and take it in instead of her. My MD always said " sounds like a UTI " and I forgot that it might be every time. And each time he was right! I think said something about there are labs that do that so you don't have to do anything but get her urine tested if the MD will write a permanent prescription. Might want to ask your MD if you can do that. Saves a hospital visits. It is the Holiday, your MD might be very cooperative. By the way, I learned the hard way there are easier ways to catch urine than tiny bottles. There are pans that fit right into the toilet and then all you have to do is pour it into a bottle. I don't know the cost of these nice pans are but whatever it is, it is worth it with our LOs. Someone talked about the name of this nice piece of equipment is called but any Med supply place should be able to send one in the mail. Might not help this time, but I would sure get one if I were a CG again. Can she tell you if it " hurts " to go!? Just your description and the fact she was in the toilet may be a clue. Hope this helps. Hugs,, Donna R Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in a nh. She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine. Guest guest
Carol, One of the nice things about caregiving is that after it is over, I stay in bed as long as I want any day. I almost look at the phone and dare it to ring. And my electric blanket is still firmly wrapped around my legs on this cold winter day in MI. Wish I could be there to " babysit " so you could go back to sleep with no worries for a few hours. I know what that means to a cg. Even when you sleep, it is with one ear cocked. (And my Mom just wouldn't sleep every other night for 3 years.) Hugs, Donna R Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in a nh. She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine. Re: Millie hasn't been to sleep all day! Ron, Emma's grandmother was up at four, and your mom gets up at four, and you both live in Michigan. Maybe they could have a play date, or go out for tea. I think I need a play date and some tea. I was up until almost four, and have no desire to do anything but crawl back in bed myself. Just my luck, major pee and poop stories all in the same week. Do I win? Guest guest
Thanks Emma. Wished my MD had told me about them or given me one. Somehow I guess they think it is so easy to get pee in a little bottle with someone who has LBD. Hugs, Happy New Years! Guest guest
lol, we were up around then too.Thankfully we went back to bed for a while. The best part about this idea is it could keep them both occupied for a few hours and that means more sleep for us. emsyfay wrote: I think Ron lives far from us but maybe we could get them on the phone to entertain each other!
