I recommend the parent having a meeting with the teacher 1st.

Explaining what she is seeing and how she is helping.

Make a list of what are the needs for the progress.

Reqesting to have the child tested in all those areas. If in math,

maybe this child needs a different math program tailored to his or her needs.

Does this child need one on one math 3 times a week for 30 min.?

Yes, if the child needs more time, yes then the child should be given more time.

Many kids have their lessons curtailed to their needs. If need an aid for only in

math or needing maniplatives. There is so much.

If in Math, many many kids need to have it simplified more than others.

Some have to change to a different math program that fits to them.

My son has tried 3 different programs and Touch math was what worked 1st

then as he progressed he was switched to another and doing well except w/coins.

He can tell you the values, he can add and subt. but when it comes to adding the

coins sum (he counts in a row). We will get though.

IT IS THE CHILDS RIGHTS to have FAPE.

It is the parents rights to ask and be involved in your childs schooling on & off campus.

Can a child with an ADD diagnosis and is on grade level receive an IEP? Her mom is having to re-teach math every night, the child's OCD and anxiety are causing her to turn away from academic opportunities, etc. She just needs extra time and such...Sent from my iPhone
