I am currently trying to get a rheumatologist approved. I have had two docs tell me to see one. I should get it approved about the time I stop hurting. LOL. Madeline http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Lungs_on_Vacation/

Madeline,I looked this up. One site said gentle exercise (approved by your doctor) and/or changing to alternate day dosages or "the currently administered steroid be exchanged for one that is not fluorinated" whatever that means. It seems to usually get better if you can get off the steroids, although it may take weeks or months. Can they give you a pain med? I know a lot of doctors think any pain med leads to raving addiction, but having had (thankfully now gone) chronic pain in the past, low doses of one saved my bacon, I was so miserable and depressed before that gave me some relief.
