Be An Artist Workshop | Thurs, August 2nd

The kids at SibCamp had such fun last week with singer-songwriter Darden , we asked him to come back and host a music workshop at The Center for anyone who may be interested and he generously agreed.

The Be An Artist Program encourages and supports the innate creativity in all kids. Darden and the Be

An Artist Program create opportunities to teach our children new, fun ways to express themselves. Through collectively exploring new ideas, writing songs, and discussing the creative process to seeing it through and recording the songs, this workshop

will open new avenues of creative thinking.

Kids on the autism spectrum, siblings, and friends ages 8-13 are welcome to join in on the fun! This

event is free and open to the public, but an RSVP is required.

When: Thurs, August 2nd at 11:30a-1:00p

Where: The Center

1700 Rio Grande St., 4th Floor

Austin, Texas 78701

Will your child be a Super Hero to a child with autism this summer?

Summer is a great time for your child to participate in one of our research studies. We are currently enrolling boys and girls, ages 18 months to 8 years of age, to participate in a study to identify a blood biomarker for autism. Controls, or children who do not have autism, are very important for this study. The study requires only one office visit and all participants receive a 'Super Hero' T-shirt. Compensation is also provided. We are currently scheduling morning appointments throughout the summer.

Also, if you refer a friend to participate your name will be entered into a monthly drawing for great prizes, including an iPad2!
