Guest guest
Hello all, I thought I would throw our problem out for comment since we are getting no where with the doctors. My son has cough variant asthma, has been diagnosed since he was 2. After having his adenoids out he was doing much better until he backslid again and since April has a chronic cough which gets ugly when he runs or has high emotions. He does not cough at night, but coughs upon waking and sounds congested. Ventolin does not help even with pre-treatment wand the cough will peter out on its own after an hour or more. He is currently on 1 puff Advair twice a day and 2 puffs Alvesco twice a day and Nasonex. He is negative for CF and immotile cilia, sinuses are good, allergy scratch test was negative. We have not checked for GERD. Do I ask for a CT scan of the chest at this point? We also have an appt. soon with immunology. He cannot play with other children or get too excited as the cough starts. Just taking him to the pool sets him off. Not much of a life. So, any ideas, comments, directions? We need help. thanks, Carol
