Guest guest
I'd like to know too as for over 10.5 years I haven't found one who helps with regard to taking medicaid or helps financially. We do go see Dr. Rao, but we cannot afford all the tests he would like to run from time to time. We just have be the directors of it and test only when we can. Insurance picks up the regular visits minus the deductible, but even the deductible is hard to meet at times, so then we just keep doing what we are doing because it is working. So I view doctor Rao as a partner, but we decide to do AC and it is working. I like bouncing ideas with him and I know he understands the challenges we face, though we don't always agree on which path to follow. Still it is nice to have a doc to talk to who understands where my son was and how far he has come and how far we still have to go. We are lucky that we do have a pediatrician in our area who does take medicaid. That has helped us a lot. He and I have agreed to disagree about vaccines, and he has alwasy respected our lifetime medical exemption (except he did try to talk us into the H1N1 during the scare). I told him if he put a bullet in my head first, so he shut up about it. I found out he is one who is firing parents for not vaccinating, and we had a very candid discussion about whether his office and staff would continue to respect our son's exemption as I want to feel safe in taking my son there. I did this in light of the " Private Practice " episode in which one of the doctors forcibly vaccinated a child against the parent's protestations while the child was int he office. the episode painted the doctor as a hero. the episode made the other child who had contracted measles look like he had leprosy and of course they had that child die of measles. they've had other episodes in which they had parents arrested for using marijuana to help their child with autism and another episode in which we parents were referred to as " whackos " who think vaccines cause autism or do ANY harm to any children. This show is direct propaganda, and I only watch to see what other stupid crap they come up with on the subject. Hopefully, it will get cancelled. But in light of the propaganda on this show, we had to discuss this with this doctor. He assures me he will continue to respect our son's exemption. I wish we had a doctor who did not fire parents for not vaccinating and respected a parents right to choose as well as accepted Medicaid. If anyone finds one of these, let us all know.
