Guest guest
Same here. I can be outside no more than a few minutes. Between the ozone affecting the air quality (we've had 3 straight days of code orange action alerts) and the heat (we broke the record of 93 set 17 years ago with a temp of 94 today), I'm smothering. Thankfully, though, the humidity has been low. I see the doctor Friday because of my diabetes mostly but I'm going to have him listen to my lungs as well. I'm a little congested and I'm starting to cough that rough cough that means I'm beginning a flare up. I hope not to have to go on pred. Guest guest
Yes, we went over 100 outside. Laid around with my nose congested and generally felt like a pancake/guppy all day. Thank goodness for AC, but that only kept it to the low 80s.

Guest guest
Wowies, glad to see I'm not alone. I called my pulmo...am going on advair for 2 weeks (free samples), then seeing if I can cut back down to flovent 220 again. If not or if I wake up at nights again, I'll go in to see him and it looks like I look for the free medicine program for advair. They're also giving me the albuterol inhaler since I'm living paycheck to paycheck just for food. 94 degrees atm....but air quality alerts out to wazoo.~~NJ/PATo: asthma Sent: Wed, July 7, 2010 8:49:05 AMSubject: Re: Struggling in heat wave Wow Kay. Guest guest
Coming home from NY on Monday it was 93 in the mountains of PA at 1130am. To everyone feeling the heat, make sure you stay hydrated. Dehydration leads to heat exhaustion and once you get that, the next time it will happen faster and be more severe than before. Once a person suffers heat exhaustion/heat stroke, they are much more susceptible to it for the next 2 yrs! Stay hydrated, stay cool however you can, and be safe. Ann Struggling in heat wave I'm so struggling in the heat wave, not only lack of sleep due to heat, but to asthma as well. Anyone else struggling with this? Think I may call either the health center or the pulmo tomorrow. ~~ NJ/PA
