Hi Kathy!

My name is , I had my tubal reversal on Jan. 11, 2001. I have 3 kids,

19, 13, and 9. I have remarried just had our 4th anniversary. We want to

have a baby of our own although he is wonderful enough to call my three " his "

also. I just want to be honest and tell you " my " experience with the TR

surgery. First of all, I was told to drink the citrate magnisium the night

before and then when I went into the hospital they still gave me an enema

which I absolutely was disgusted and terrified of. Much to my surprise the

staff there, at Jewish Hospital, was so wonderful and understanding. The

nurse was very gentle about the whole thing and I felt soooo much better

after the enema. Even after drinking that nasty stuff the night before I

couldn't believe how much came out with the enema! I felt like I had lost 20

lbs right then! But really, believe me, that is a really great hospital with

a group of really nice people to help you and I don't feel the same

" negative " way about enemas anymore! Now, about the surgery itself! Boy was

I in for a surprise!!! I went in that morning at 7 am and I think my surgery

began around 9 or 9:30 am. I don't remember anything until like 3:30 or 4:00

that afternoon. Then I only woke up because I was in sooo much pain. Of

course they are very good about giving you meds to help with that. When I

went to try to stand up I almost passed out from the extreme pain. Of course

you see, I have never had a c-section so this is something I've never felt

before. I have talked to some women who have had very little pain from this

surgery but I guess I made up for what they didn't have!!! It was all worth

it though, now I just wait and wait every month and keep hoping for that

" miracle " we're all hoping for. For me it's been 9 months of ttc, 2

hsgs-found out my right tube is no good-blocked at the uterus, but left one

works beautifully, went this past week for an endometrial biopsy, will find

out results and what to plan for next tomorrow. I've also used clomid for 3

cycles which caused me to have some pretty nice size cysts. One big enough

to send me to the emergency room. But I will not give up!!! Hope to

conceive at least by X-mas, what a nice gift that would be to give to hubby,

huh?

Sorry for rambling on so much, if there's anything you want to talk about

just e-mail me at Maangel1910@..., I'd enjoy having a " buddy " to trade

stories with!

I wish you much, much luck with your surgery and even more luck afterwards!

By the way, where are you coming from? Just curious, I live in KY, about 1

hr from Dr. Levin's office, how did you hear about him?

Luck to you and yours!

Hi everyone,

Yes, the days are passing quickly and we are heading to Kentucky 1 week from

Saturday. I am so excited. Of course, all this talk about an enema has me kind

of concerned. Not enough to cancel of course, but still a little leary. I have

never had to have one. Anyway, I am wondering if there is someone out there who

was cut up and down? I am going to have to do that, due to this horrible weight

gain. Yuck. Anyway, I know I will have to and was wondering if there is a

difference as far as healing and pain. Yes, I am still stuck on the pain issue.

I know with the 1st c-section I was screaming when the nurse told me get out of

the bed and walk. Actually she grabbed my hand and forced me to get out of the

bed. I really didn't like that woman after that. Of course, after walking a

little, I was fine. The 2nd one wasn't quite as bad, because I knew what to

expect. That was definitely an easy TL because they did it while they had me

opened up getting my baby boy out. Well, any thoughts on the difference will be

greatly appreciated. I am really looking forward to being back to " normal "

again. The pain AF brought this time was just as horrible as every other month.

There is no point in having to lay down and suffer anywhere from 2 days to 7

every month for the next 18 or so years. I do not know why the doctors do not

warn people before hand that this can happen.

Prayers to everyone,

Are you staying in the hospital over night? I would imagine the

extra incision will be somewhat more uncomfortable. Let Dr. Levin

know your concerns about pain. He was very understanding about

that. You can work together to minimize it so you can get back on

your feet again as quickly as possible.

I wish you the best.

Kathy:

I bet I am the only one here that had a tubal reversal each way. For

the record a different doctor did my first surgery. I should have

started out with Dr. Levin. Anyhow, my first tr was done horizonal,

I was even told that it was suppose to be a simple surgery. I

thought it hurt quite a bit. For day when I stood up there was

pain. When I had doctor levin do my last surgery we decided to go up

and down. I have delivered 2 babies through that incision. Actually

the first couple of days it hurt a bit but not that stabing pain I

had before. I actually thought as much work as Dr. Levin did in me I

should have really hurt bad. So I have a nice + on my belly, if only

I can get one on a pg test. he he he.... Doctor levin sees it as a

cross. If you have already had an up and down surgery I would go for

that. I will sure pray for you while you are gone Kathy...

Hi ,

For the c-section, I had the bikini cut. But that was 8 years ago and before

I was this over weight. Because of the excess weight, I will probably have

to have it done up and down. Thank you so much for all of your help over the

past month. You have been such a blessing. Thank you so much for your

prayers.

Lots of Love

Kathy
