Guest guest
Hi Rick, I've been having similar problems, only mine has progressed to being quite painful at times. My toes also turn quite purple. The chair you use can make a huge difference. I bought an Aeron chair from Herman . It's quite pricey, but it does a great job of eliminating the pressure on the backs of the legs. I'd also check with your doc to see if there are other things you can do. Guest guest
Exercise?....wait a minute, I vaguely recall that... Actually, I have bad joint pain from my autoimmune hepatitis, so it's very hard for me to exercise. > numbness in foot and leg > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Last night I was up until about 12:30AM working on the web page > > > for my son's school. But most people don't know that MSM comes from **colostrum** - and when you take a 100% colostrum product, you get the benefits of MSM *plus* you significantly address autoimmune disorders - like your hepatitis, Don. Diabetics, of course, have lowered immunity and consequently are very prone to illnesses that a normal immune system can shake off easily. Diabetes also means slower healing from wounds, surgeries, etc. Colostrum helps this, and it helps regulate blood sugar to boot and addresses the problem of insulin resistance in type 2 diabetics. Do your due diligence and find out more about colostrum - you owe it to yourself to do this! This is simply an opportunity to learn how to help your body heal itself. I'm sorry if I offended anybody with this, but I will take that risk because I know that many listmembers WILL benefit from it. Email me privately please. K. Guest guest
Rick...your symptoms sounded a lot like mine several years ago. SEE YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY! I was at a point in my life with no money or insurance and had to wait for both.,It was tough! Sure enough I was out or control and the diagnosis was neuropathy. My legs felt like they *sparkled* like pictures you see of synapses firing in the brain! I am using neurontin...it was originally for epileptics. But now has been approved for diabetes. Things often improve at night, but sometimes worsen. Keep your sugars in check. Last night (for somereason, I can't understand!) I forgot my evening dose of insulin. This am my bgs were 212! My feet were extremely painful! Took my insulin and now the pain is much less. But I do need to go have lunch! I am behind! (dumb computer!) Hope you find out soon and don't wait to lose all feeling! That is when it becomes dangerous! *hugs* Toni numbness in foot and leg > > > Last night I was up until about 12:30AM working on the web page for my son's school. Guest guest
Thanks for the advise Toni, but do you think I should wait a day or two and see if it isn't a pinched nerve or some fluke like that? --- Bill & Toni Fuller wrote: > > > Rick...your symptoms sounded a lot like mine several years ago. Guest guest
*They say* that exercise helps everything! It lowers bgs and increases circulation. When I was having laser and healing, my retinologist told me not to exercise til we were done. Now I feel better, by moving more. Guest guest
That is what I thought at first! I went to a chiropractor. After an exam, he said, what I am going to do to you will cost you some big bucks, so before i do anything, I want you to see an MC and have him check you out. This could be diabetic neuropathy and I want to rule that out before we start any expensive tests or treatments. Couldn't believe he was so honest because I had seen one in Austin who treated me for two years and bilked (no, I did not mean to say billed) my insurance company and me for mucho dinero! (sp!) Turns out he was right! But the doc that I saw for 5 years, who let me go on and on with an A1C of 13.9 and just kept on adding *one more* oral med after another, just acerbated the problem. After I saw an endocrinologist (and a great one, I might add!) and started insulin, did I really get that control! Of course it is *a day late and a dollar short* since I have struggled with 8 laser treatments for bleeding retinas and now macular edema (which is horrible ...blurry and double vision!) all acerbated by all that time with out of control dm! I'd could cheerfully wring his neck. BTW, there are nerve function tests that the right doctor can perform even in the early stages of neuropathy. A good doctor into research or one at a teaching hospital is a good place to look! *hugs* Toni......maybe just give your doc a call and feel him (or her) out! numbness in foot and leg > > > > > > > > > > > > > Last night I was up until about 12:30AM working on the web page for my > > son's school.
