Guest guest
Good Morning Meenie.. (Good job with your first day) I started in on the water in the morning when i woke up.. drank 2 glasses while i was lounging in my bed because yesterday was just one of those days I went and seen a Broadway show last night, Footloose.. we parked a little bit away from the auditorium so i could get a little extra walking it.. it was hot here too so i didn't want to walk in the heat... but i did run some errands today and got some walking in there... (i did have Arby's.. but i just got a roast beef sandwhich and just ate the meat.. i'm bad.. i know, but it was on the way and i was hungry...) I am doing better with my meds.. i am actually taking them as i should be and following them with a snack (fruit, i went and bought some grapes and peaches) so i don't get dizzy.. let's hope it lasts!! I hope everyone else is keeping up and i know you all are doing a great job!! *hugs to all* Goldmoon > > > >Well, here's my progress so far. >Day 1, Tues went great. Guest guest
Well, here's my progress so far. Day 1, Tues went great. I drank my water and went to the mall and walked. That's a first for me, I've never been a " mall walker " but with temps at 101 here (heat index 110!) walking outside was out! Wednesday was another story! I couldn't start my water in the morning because I had to go to court (ex. not paying child support - gak). Did get some water in, but no exercise (although court got my heart rate up, does that count? lol) I'm doing better today though Got up at 0630, having bkfst and doing my email, then will do crunches and aerobics. How is everyone else doing? Keep up the good work - I know you want to do this as much as I do! Meenie
Guest guest
Hey Meenie, I am doing pretty good. I am having a challenge with the water. I don't know why but I have to make myself drink it. I LOOOOOOVE diet cokes and need to get off. I bought a exercise tape and doing ok with that. My sugars are still running about 200 though and I am following atkins diet to the nose. Maybe because I still have a sinus condition? I have been a little concerned not know why. I am low carbing and no sugar what can it be? Vision is a little blurry also. It is extremely hot here and I have to stay out of the heat. My bs do go down to around 140 or so by mid day but I did take a insulin shot this morning along with meds. But I am hanging with the plan!!!! Shelia
Guest guest
Infections do push the sugars up. That could be it. I have a sinus infection too! Maybe its a computer virus!! hehe How long have you been low carbing? It does take a while to get your system adjusted. After I was following Atkins for about a month my bg's had stabalized except for the fasting am one. It took another month to get that below 140! But now they run great. Drinking that water IS hard, isn't it? I forget about it so have to put notes up to remind myself LOL I exercised with a tape today, also. It's just too hot to go outside and walk. We did go to the neighborhood pool this afternoon (almost 5 pm). It was nice but the water felt like warm molasses ! I exercised to Jane Fonda's low impact aerobics. She has a hi/low impact tape that I love too I started off with and worked my way up to Jane, but still do from time to time also for variety. Guest guest
Meenie, The fasting sugars are the highest. That is so weird?! Well I added few carbs to the diet not very many and they went down the first day. I don't know if that had anything to do with it but I do have a sinus infection still, and the only thing the Doctor will give me is Clariton D and it just does not help. I don't feel bad but it is there and has been for at least 3 months. I will most likely go tomorrow and let him look at me and just tell him I am sorry but you have to so something different. Today has been really good and I did good on everything but getting all my water down (YUK) but I will before I go to bed. I just started the low carb on Thurs of last week. Mike my husband went on it with me, he is struggling LOL and says hes starving but being very brave!!! Hugs Shelia
Guest guest
Sheila - Believe it or not, but the water will help the sinus infection, too. The additional moisture in your system will help to make the secretions thinner so that your body can eliminate them. Isn't water wonderful!!! in Cincinnati
Guest guest
Yes, , I know you are right and I guess my biggest challenge is more like drinking the water. But guess what I will focus real hard on that. Thanks for the advice! Hugs Shelia
Guest guest
Tell him not to starve thats the beauty of Atkins.. yu can eat all the legal foods you want the high fasting sugars is called " the dawn effect " . When you bg's were running higher your body got used to them. When you started gettting them down, at night when you were sleeping your body started sa;ying " Oh no... sugar is going too low (even tho it war really in a good range... just you arent used to being in a normal range) so your liver released sugar into your system and boom, your fasting sugar goes up up up! A sinus infection can push your blood sugars up = I don't know about the claritin but some meds can push sugars up too. I would ask your doc. Have you been on antibiotics? A sinus infection can be hard to get rid of Good for you on the water!! And its really great your hubby is doing this with you - it helps to have a buddy in the house Meenie Re: [Atkins_Support_List] Habit Challenge >From: SRicha9391@... > >Meenie, The fasting sugars are the highest.
