Guest guest
I have been reading all these comments about fatigue. I have always had the opposite problem. I have always thought I had a mild case of ADHD. I was always extremely active before being diagnosed with Chiari. I had a time consuming job, three kids, activities. Now I am retired I do tire much more easily am I am sleeping better but if I get seven hours and have only been up once it's a great night. I do yawn a lot. I don't feel sleepy during the day. Sometimes I feel like I am yawning to get enough air. Also I am cold much of the time. Guest guest
<< Sometimes I feel like I am yawning to get enough air. >> Hi, i have had trouble with my breathing for a long time. When i first noticed it i was yawning all the time, just like you say, probably to get enough oxygen in my system. Then i would notice that i was taking a deep breath every once in a while, like i had to to catch up on my breathing. Now, when i have the difficulties i notice that i feel as though i just am not getting enough air. It is a breathless feeling like i have been running and just can't quite get my breath. I have to be careful to not hyperventalate but to relax and breath in through my nose and blow out through mymouth with my lips puckered. that is what the respiratory therapist said to do. somehow it equalized the amount of oxygen in my system and i feel a little better afterward. When i have trouble now it lasts for a few days. I have an inhailer that helps a little, but mostly i have to just rest and not use my arms and hands for a while. that is what brings it on for me. When i use my upper body too much i guess things swell around the brainstem and i start getting the rapid heartrate and respiratory distress, and swallowing and choking issues. Rest seems to be the only answer that i have found over the years. course i am going to have the decompression surgery on the 6th, so maybe (hopefully) that will get rid of some of these irritating symptoms.
