I'm not aware of anyone else in the Austin area, who will prescribe natural

thyroid.

I too see ine. I understand what both of you are saying about her tangents,

which in my case are about issues other than my thyroid, but I guess I

appreciate the fact that I get more than five minutes of someone's time even if

it is costing me $75 per 15 min. I've had three visits; the first was $300, the

2nd was $150 and the third was $125. My fourth will be a phone consult, since

we're no longer in the Austin area and won't be back to Austin until next

winter. I too have never seen Dr. M.

When I called last fall to make an appt for Dec., Dr Manzanero was not accepting

new patients and neither was Debbie Winder without a referral, so I made my appt

with his NP, ine . I had my first visit last Dec. when we arrived in

Austin for the winter.

My purpose for going there was to get on natural desiccated thyroid and off of

Synthroid and that has been accomplished. I'm now taking Nature-Throid and doing

much better, but am waiting on some Erfa to arrive from Canada. I had problems

getting Nature-Throid in Austin, so I asked for a prescription for Erfa. After

my last attempt to locate 1 grain Nature-Throid, I was charged way too much for

it.

I haven't had any problems with the office staff and they have answered the

phone or called me back. I've never sent them an email, but have called them

with a request on two occasions and they faxed me the info I requested by the

end of the day.

I guess my only concern, which I haven't addressed with them, is when they want

you to have your thyroid blood work done, which is 6-8 hours after taking your

thyroid medicine in the morning. My numbers are still low and I'm still ramping

up, so it hasn't been an issue yet and with the $$ ticking at each visit, I

haven't mentioned anything yet.

Also they do seem to want you to take their supplements, but as a wellness

clinic, I guess that is to be expected. I believe in taking supplements, just

not the ones they sell which cost $50-$85 a month each.

don't like naturethroid either. This gal was absolutely sure that my sudden

onset high BP had nothing to do with the meds, it was all a big COINCIDENCE.
