Guest guest
Hi Val, I have some questions about my treatment. Prior to ANY treatment, my labs were: TSH 5.33 (.47-4.80) FT4 1.15 (.89-1.76) FT3 3.01 (2.30-4.20) Rev. T3 258 (90-350) Free Cortisol, serum .36 (,20-1.80) My MAIN symptoms were fatigue, poor appetite, inability to lose weight and body acne. I was treated with T4/t3 at 3.25 grains, 20 mg of cortisol, and progesterone After about 5 months of this treatment and still feeling tired, no appetite, little weight loss (despite healthy/lower calorie diet) my blood results were: TSH .03 (.47-4.80) FT4 1.65 ( .89-1.76) FT3 4.07 (2.30-4.20) Rev. T3 299 (90-350) Due to my symptoms and high reverse t3, I was switched to straight timed release t3 at 30 mcg (very good compounding pharmacy that's sent to a lab for quality testing) and told to slowly raise every 10 days until I reached 65 mcg. I was also told to lower my cortisol to 10 mg once I reached 50 mcg of t3. When I first started 30 mcg t3, I immediately started to notice improvements in my skin, appetite and energy. My temps were reaching 98.6. However, once I lowered my cortisol, i immediately caught a bad cold and as I raised up to 62 mcg of t3, I got very tired, acne came back, dull aches in legs and lower back and hair started falling out again. So I was told to raise back up to 20 mg of corisol. It's been about 10 days and my skin has improved, hair isn't falling out.. though I'm still tired in the mornings (though not as tired as I was on 10 mg of cortisol). my temps have dropped back down to 97.8. I'm going to take averages this week. My questions: 1) Do you think I need even more cortisol or less cortisol based on my labs..Was I pooling? Or am I expecting too much too soon? I would very much like my energy back and to lose 15 lbs that won't budge. I've been on just t3 therapy now for 1 month but on 62 mcg for just 20 days. 2) Is it normal to still feel tired and to not have lost weight yet? (Because i was on t4/t3 for 5 months, I thought i'd get immediate results once I switched....) thanks so much for your input!
