Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the long absence. Computer problems ran rampant in our house. As

this past weekend was a long weekend in Canada, hubby decided that this

would be perfect opportunity to upgrade my pc to a bigger hard drive...

bwahahahahaha. it would have been so simple.... just do a disaster recovery

backup, pull out the old drive, pop in the new one, restore everything from

disaster recovery backup disks... bwahahahahahahahaha. True it would have

worked, had one of the disks not been bad and impossible to read from....

uggggh. This process started Friday night and has officially completed last

night (Wednesday). Many trips to computer stores were made this weekend and

many dollars were spent.

My PC wasn't the only one under the surgeon's knife. Our e-mail server and

internal file server that crashed 2 weeks ago was worked on as well. It's

now completely rebuilt and ready to fire up and re-install Linux onto it.

We still haven't recovered all our document, picture, music etc. from the

crashed drive. I'm most upset about that. Ok.. I'll rephrase that. I'm

devastated. 5 years of work gone!!! poof!!! I can't be upset with hubby...

it was my fault for not doing backups. We have to call some drive recovery

experts and it could cost up to $3000 to recover the data. Hopefully, we'll

get more info from local recovery places in Ontario as opposed to shipping

outside to California. I had a major emotional " freak out " session about it

on Saturday and started smoking on the weekend. Yes.. I allowed my stress

and upset to take over.

I am proud to say that I've again stopped smoking and have calmed down a

lot. I had to look into myself to find out what the deeper issues were

causing my emotional upset and I think I've figured it out. It's too long

to get into here, but it was work related from the computer industry and my

personal issues with my previous employer. I think I've managed to turn the

horrible things that haunted me from my old job into a positive and use it

to my advantage for myself. I did discover that even if I get the Fibro

under control and can work again some day... it will never be in the

computer operations environment again. After 30 years of working in

Computer Operations, I am officially burned out for the last time with my

experiences with my last job. I guess the 3rd burn out was the charm for

me. I'm too emotional of a person to work with large corporations again. I

think I've finally managed to become " ok " with that.

Our web server is still down and in pieces and parts on the floor. Sorry

everyone, but the Fibromites Fighting Weight pages will be down until the

new web server is finished the building phase and reload the operating

system. It may sound strange to hear that I can't work in the computer

operations area for a living, but we have a network of 5 computers at home

(4 other PC's are still in boxes and won't be unpacked and connected until

we move into our own home. LOL... I've brought the business world into my

home... hehehehehe. I'm going to be pretty busy for the next month or so,

getting all of this back into working order again.

Sorry for being away for so long, I've missed you all tremendously. I have

no idea how to catch up on all the e-mail, but I'll give it a shot. :-)

Super mega hugs and best wishes to all. Hope you are all feeling well and

doing well.

loving, tender, and gentle hugs,

Norah
