To anyone who is interested-I've been reading the

discussions on " Acetylcysteine " so thought I'd throw

in my two-cents worth. I've been on this drug for one

and a half years. I'm on 600 mg. 3 times a day. I

get mine from the UWMC pharmacy. My doctor does not

want me to go to a health food store as he says they

are not regulated by the same guidelines as the

pharmacies and he needs to know exactly what is in the

medicenes I am taking. I pay $23.50 for each bottle

and receive it in the mail about 2 days after I call

in my order. It's really simple and I've never had a

delay in getting it. I am also on 10 mg. of

prednisone, and 50 mg. of " Azathioprine " . I don't

know which one is helping however I have very little

mucus and hardly ever cough any up. When first

diagnosed I was coughing a lot! My PLF tests show

that my breathing is exactly the same as it was last

summer when I was tested. I do exercise at the

Pulmonary Rehab. facility here 3 times a week and try

to walk for at least a half hour on the other days. I

know the exercise is part of the reason I have stayed

stabilized but also think the medicenes are helping.

I hope to reduce the prednisone to 5 mg. every other

day if I can get my doctor to agree. Hope this helps

someone. (My disease is a little different from most

of you - " Hypersensitivity Pneumonitits) but I do have

severe pulmonary fibrosis and am ox. 24 hours a day).

I also found out that changing to a lower altitude

helps me so am considering moving to the coast!!
