Whether you are a mental health practitioner or simply interested in growing in

a new and embodied way, you are invited to take part in the annual Developmental

Transformations (DVT) intensive at the Institute of DvT in New York City.

Join drama therapists and Institute faculty members Navah Steiner and

, assisted by post-graduate trainee Mayor, in a two-day workshop

exploring the foundations of this unique and innovative drama therapy method....

You will experience the multi-layered joy of free play and discover how

improvisation can be used safely and effectively as a powerful healing tool.

Developmental Transformations has been used for more than 25 years in a variety

of settings with a variety of populations. DvT training programs currently exist

in New York, San Francisco, Montreal, Holland and Israel.

Saturday 9:00 am – 6 pm,

Sunday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.

The Institutes is a member of the Consortium of Drama Therapy Institutes. This

course may be used for partial fulfillment of requirements in the alternative

track program as well as for CE credits necessary to maintain RDT credentials.

Navah J. Steiner, LCAT, RDT is the training director at the Institute for the

Arts in Psychotherapy. She is a psychotherapist in private practice and at the

School of Visual Arts Counseling Services. Previously she was the director of

the Creative Arts Therapy program at SafeSpace and a drama therapist at Bellevue

Hospital center. She has taught and presented on DVT both nationally and

internationally, and supervised and trained drama therapy interns for over 12

years. She is currently doing post-graduate training in family and couples

therapy

at the Ackerman Institute. She is a Zen student, an unpublished poet and lives

in NYC with her one eyed dog, Rosie.

LCAT, RDT is a faculty member at the Institute for The Arts in

Psychotherapy, where she has been practicing DvT for 14 years. She is an adjunct

faculty member in the Creative Arts Therapy Certificate Program at The New

School University. She has a private practice in both verbal psychotherapy and

DvT/drama therapy and runs drama therapy groups at an Eating Disorders clinic.

She is also a stilt walker, mask-maker, has been known to walk a tightrope and

is the mother of two young children.

Mayor, RDT, is a member of the advanced group at the Institute for the

Arts in Psychotherapy, currently working at the Post Traumatic Stress Center in

New Haven, CT using DvT with traumatized children. has also published

on the topic of using DvT as a method for playing with race and creating social

change. She is commonly found welding metal sculptures, drinking vats of coffee,

or playing a witchy character.
