Asthma Tracker App

I just discovered (after seeing posts on the migraine group for headache

trackers) an application for iphone or ipod touch (and probably ipad...I have

the itouch) that is really an interesting one for tracking asthma. It's called

AsthmaMD and has different ways to track the asthma, both by peak flow and

symptoms as well as being able to track your triggers and meds. It even has a

graph so you can see trends and it has a place where you can send the info to

your doctor via email.

The app's really been helpful to me, and will be more helpful if this trend

keeps going (asthma's acting up at the moment). I'll be able to show my doctor

easily what's going on. It's neat to see it in graphical form and to just put

it in by symptoms (it assumes peakflow) if you can't or forgot to put in a peak

flow number. It judges the green, yellow, and red areas by age/gender/height.

For me, it tended to be about right at what I consider to be my areas (although

for me, mid-yellow range can send me into the ER).

Just wanted to let folks know since I'm finding it to be a big help in a rough

asthma time.

Hi . I also use a tracking program. However, as time goes by I find myself using it less. There are several good ones, and I would really agree that it is very helpful to identify trends. Try adding notes such as weather, activities, exposures, etc. when you are having a hard time. It can really help identify triggers. Madeline http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Lungs_on_Vacation/
