Guest guest
Regardless of whether weight gain is due to inactivity, overeating as a choice or stimulated by medication, we all need to pay close attention to our weight. Having once weighed almost 250 pounds and now fighting to stay below 185 I can truthfully say that it takes my careful attention daily to avoid overeating. Yes, I also fell into the trap of finding out that appetite was stimulated with some medications, but that did not take away my responsibility for overeating. The more I weighed the greater I sufferred from pain and the problems of being overweight. Having lost a tremendous amount of weight I can also say that my painful symptoms are dramatically reduced. This gives me motivation to keep extra weight off and to keep trying to lose more weight. I'm less than 20 pounds from my goal weight right now. I've had to totally change the way I eat. I've eliminated many foods and types of foods from my diet, especially those comfort foods that end up doing nothing but increasing my weight. It simply takes self discipline to achieve weight loss. This is not a lecture. It is only a suggestion that if you want to feel better then it is you who has to determine that losing weight will benefit you greatly and then do whatever it takes to achieve that goal. I've been at this for several years and expect to be at it for the rest of my life. Paying attention to your health is important.
