I have room in my heart to adore both of you! =P I'm not the jealous type <g> You'll always hold a special place in my heart for being able to diagnose my big, fat, swollen leg problem in 30 seconds flat, when a whole hospital full of doctors with fancy equipment couldn't figure it out. I think you're a frickin' genius! After all, it takes one to know one. lol -- Lyndi
Guest guest
Lyndi, Ya know, I really do believe that doctors sometimes make it too hard. They either don't want to listen to us (go figure!), or they just want to play with their shiny, expensive toys. The thing that annoys me with a lot of doctors is because they have the college degrees, it suddenly makes them an expert on the body WE'VE known all our lives! And heaven forbid they admit that logic doesn't always prevail! OH NO! LOL, I'm not a genius, not by a long shot! Just a very diligent researcher. My doctor used to hate it when I did self-diagnosis, until he realized that I was dead on about 95% of the time. When I go in now, he'll sometimes jokingly ask me " What's the diagnosis? " It was my constant prodding that finally got him to further investigate my joint problems, and then telling him that I wanted to try steroid therapy that prompted him to prescribe Plaquenil. It's helped so much that I want to say " See, you just should have listened to me from the beginning! " My c-reactive protein was at a 3-4 while I was on high doses of anti-inflammatories. After ONE month on Plaquenil, it is down to zero...hmmmmm....imagine that! As for your big, fat, swollen leg, that was just sheer luck. I have a Baker's cyst too, and what you had going on was pretty similar to what I had experienced, and also stuff that I'd just read about. You just benefitted from the fact that I'm a research geek! LOL! By the way, are you doing any work at work today? Jen
