Hi Turtle,

I also have this problem with pain that starts in the middle of my lower back,

down the " glutes " and down my leg. The pain is worse in the back of the calf

area..ouch!! I don't have it all of the time, it just appears when it feels

like

it. I have had this for over 13 years, it appeared shortly after the birth of

my

son. My most recent MRI showed a couple of " bulging disks " back there, but it

says the bulging is minimal, so nobody wants to do anything about it.

I am wondering if you could have the same problem, but most recently aggravated

by your inactivity due to your surgery. I went thru physical therapy for this

about a year ago, and they taught me all kinds of back exercises to do. It

really helped the problem for along time, but eventually the pain came back

because I don't have the time to go back to P.T., and haven't been doing the

exercises due to my Chiari surgery.

Anyway, just food for thought.

Good luck,

Sheila
