Guest guest
Hello. My name is Marisa Sullivan. I am a yoga teacher and long time psychodrama student. For many years I have taught yoga for women around sexual issues and expanded self-empowered sexual awareness. Recently I have completed an extended teacher training study of yoga for pelvic floor. I am looking for a volunteer for three sessions (or an organization who will sponsor a one time workshop-for underserved women) who is suffering from pelvic issues--any form of pelvic trauma-birth or other. Please contact me through my personal email with any questions. I am hoping to start these sessions very soon and teach them in my Brooklyn home Mon-Fri daytime hours as I get busy in the fall and would like to complete the work by mid-September. If you are therapist feel free to refer a client to me. I do have some training in yoga for trauma as well. Many women (and men) suffer with physical issues in the pelvic floor caused by excess tension that are untreated and lead to unneccessary pain and illness. In many counties in Europe women are given six weeks of pelvic floor physical therapy after giving birth. In this ocountry we are given NONE and even women with severe issues post birth find insurance does not cover pelvic floor physical therapy or unaware that it may help. the yoga work I am learning is very specific and amazing and i am excited to begin to share it. Be well. Marisa Sullivan
