Hi Jean. As your body ingests the pollen you develop antigens to the pollens so that when you are exposed you don't have the histamine reaction. Madeline http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Lungs_on_Vacation/

CJ,I am glad the 50,000 iu's worked for you..they did for my sister also.( are you talking about the pres. vit d2?) for my daughter her vit d level dropped when on the pres. d2 so she was put on 10,000 d3 for 3 months and it did go up some. she is still taking 8,000 d3 right now and i am hoping it will help her allegies/asthma.good luck I hope it conts to work for you :)I have a ques on the honey? How does local honey help with allergies? I remember hearing this before but dont have info on it. I would love to know?ok thanks . jean>> As we get older, we don't make or absorb Vit. D as well as we once did. I'm taking 50,000 IU's once a week to help with autoimmune disease. When I ran out, my levels dropped like a rock from 66 to 37

in just a couple weeks. Vit. D is supposed to support your immune system without boosting it, which in my case could make me sicker. Before beginning a Vit. D supplement, you should have your Vit. D levels checked. I was at 33, which is barely in the bottom of the chart, when I was taking OTC supplements. Also use Vit. D enriched milk-alternatives, and it wasn't working. The big dose weekly turned me around. I've already noticed fewer sinus infections with my levels in the 60's compared to 33.> > I've used local honey for years, and have nearly lost my allergic response to Orange blossoms.> > CJ>
