Guest guest
Good morning everyone, Later this week, I'm leading a training at my agency for staff, teaching them some DBT skills to use with challenging clients. Can anyone make any suggestions as to movies, TV clips that give an accurate depiction of Borderline Personality Disorder or show therapists using DBT skills/Mindfulness skills with clients? I'm hoping that getting creative by showing a movie clip along these lines would help engage staff (when they'd maybe much rather be completing paperwork than sitting through a training!) Again, I want to ensure that the depiction is as accurate as possible and not just "Hollywood" style for ethical purposes. Thanks! We treat individuals with chronic and persistant mental illness and their families. The first topic I'm introducing to staff is DBT skills that they can use with their clients who not only have BPD, but mood disorders and substance abuse issues as well. I would like to include some creative action-methods and exercises throughout the training to make it less dry and help with skill and information acquistion. Would anyone know some DBT resources or suggest any action-methods that can be applied to DBT skills to help staff learn the information in a playful manner? Any assistance, suggestions, or someone to bounce ideas off of would be greatly appreciated.
