Guest guest
Ron- I'm sorry I can't help you, but PLEASE let me know how you manage with this. My neuro feels I'm a pretty likely candidate for SCS and I'm interested and worried at the same time. Good luck! -theresa Ron wrote: I am having a permanent Spinal Cord Stimulator implanted on May 12th.
Guest guest
I have had my SCS for 16 months and love it. I suffer from chronic LWB pain that radiates into my legs. i have since returned to work full time and otherwise live a very active life. As an adjunct to the SCS i also take Neurontin, Tolvon (a tetracyclic antidepressant) and Effexor (also an anitdespressant). The addition of these last 2 meds has far outweighed the benefit from the SCS so you may consider those also. I do use my SCS as one component of my treatment and on bad days (such as today) i get through because of all three. In terms of the surgery, mine went smoothly and i was walking up and down three stories of the hospital within a few days; something I most certainly couldn't do before!! I wish you well with your procedure and remember to make the most of the opportunities as they come your way. Guest guest
Hell: Nothing t worry about, you will be sedated although they have to bring you out a little to adjust the stimulator so that it is in the place where your most extensive pain areas are. I have had it for about 2 years now and for me it is used when te eds don't do the trick. Actually they would like one to keep it on all of the time on low. You will most likely have to have the modality adjusted a few times until youare sure where it is the most effective. Don't worry they place it in a fat pocket in you bottock cloise to your waist. I never notice it anymore. Good Luck and stay calm. Sincerely, Alice _wseone56@..._ (mailto:wseone56@...)
